Dance Bridge Activities and Deadlines for Summer/Fall 2008:

JULY 1 - SEPTEMBER 5, 2008 

APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR ANNUAL “DANCE IS FOR EVERY BODY!” SHOWCASE

Open to all dance artists, teachers, companies, individuals, studios and schools.  Looking for 5 – 15 minute presentations, lecture demonstrations, audience participation activities or mini-classes, work-in-progress, finished dances and short original dance films.   Possible opportunity for more than one time slot available on the same day or each day (but not back to back).  For more specific information and an application click here.

NOVEMBER 8 & 9, 2008

ANNUAL “DANCE IS FOR EVERY BODY!” SHOWCASE

Boulder Public Library Canyon Theater, 1000 Canyon Blvd., Boulder. 
An all day continuous dance showcase, free to the public that is part entertainment, part education and all fun!  This annual showcase is a wonderful outreach opportunity for dance artists, teachers, companies, individuals, studios and schools to reach new audiences in  5 – 15 minute presentations, lecture demonstrations, audience participation activities, showing of work-in-progress, finished dances and short original dance films.  Audiences are encouraged to come for a little or stay the afternoon.  Informal atmosphere, family and artist friendly with a resource table containing information on classes and upcoming seasons also available.  Check here for schedule and more details by mid-October or contact the Dance Bridge directly.

  • FOLK DANCING for EVERYONE! Tuesday Evenings ongoing through Sept. 9, 7-10 p.m. Outside on the Boulder Farmers' Market Plaza on 13th St. between Arapahoe & Canyon,(next to the Dushanbe Tea House), Boulder. Fun folkdances from around the world are taught & danced each Tuesday evening outside under the stars. There is beginning level teaching with Tom Masterson from 7:00 to 8:00; no partner or experience needed.  Dancing continues till 10:00. Cost is FREE! (donations appreciated!) A wonderful way to learn great dances, experience our ethnic and cultural roots, meet lots of new friends, and get into shape, all at the same time!  Sponsored by Danceophile Studio & Postoley Dance Ensemble.   • 10th ANNIVERSARY AERIAL DANCE FESTIVAL 2008, August 3 - 16, Boulder, CO.  Classes held at Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut St., Boulder Circus Center, 4747 N. 26th St. and on the CU/Boulder Campus.  Bungie, stilts, fabric, hoop, low-flying trapeze, physical theatre, contact improvisation, aerial yoga, fixed trapeze, hammock, aerial improvisation, Skinner Releasing Technique, repertory and other special classes.  Showcase Performances: Aug. 8, 9, 10, special 10th anniversary performance on Aug.15, student class performance on Aug. 16.  Info on classes and more: www.frequentflyers.org or 303-245-8277.
