Intermediate/Advanced Color Management
Course Description:
If you're ready to stop wasting time and money on print remakes and tweaks, this is the workshop for you. Today's photographer has a huge variety of choices when deciding how to produce a print. There are many papers and substrates, and just as many different methods of printing on them. Some devices are RGB and others are CMYK. In spite of so many variables you can obtain accurate, predictable, and repeatable print results by implementing a color management system. This class will benefit self-printers, commercial printers, and photographers that trust their work to commercial printing labs. Methods and practices discussed will be relevant to digitally produced inkjet and silver based prints. We will cover some of the basics, including the principles of color management and what it entails. We will quickly progress to discuss color-managed workflows, and you'll learn how to implement a color management system in Adobe Photoshop. We will discuss the benefits of advanced printing solutions, with plenty of time allotted at the end of each section for questions. This class includes a booklet for reference and taking notes.
